An International Standard and a longtime North American National Standard, the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) is required in the United States and Canadian jurisdictions. The 2007 edition will not expire until 2011 and since the previous edition of the NBIC in 2004 the NBIC (NBIC07) of 2007 has great improvements and looks much different since the inception of the original NBIC soft bound handbook decades ago with very concise rules.
